Now & Always: A Louisiana Love Story PUBLISHED!

As many of you know, I have been working for several years on a book of letters written between my grandparents, Joseph B. Lancaster and Amanda D, Lancaster. He was the first public superintendent of education in St. Tammany, a legislator, and a judge. Wherever he went in south Louisiana, he and Amanda corresponded. Sometimes they wrote each other when they were both in Covington! Their letters, written from 1901 to 1916, form a story of their love and a picture of Louisiana life in the early 1900s. I wrote the introduction, obtained images (many from generous relatives and friends, but also from numerous museums and libraries) of the people and places described in the letters, and wrote the captions to place that information in context. My company, Garcia Publishing Company, has just released the book, called Now and Always: A Louisiana Love Story. It's been a long-term project that I am thrilled and relieved to have completed!
